Travel sample competitions

In order to enter you need to create a video explaining why you want to win. I did have a friend who wanted to learn Spanish so I passed the competition on to her as she did have enough passion to create a winning video. It had low visibility so it would have been an easy win for someone who wanted it.

For this reason I create a Yahoo email account that I use to enter competitions to keep marketing emails out of my main email account, which is already cluttered. Just be sure to check it occasionally. I entered a fun picture of a smile that was drawn across the snow by foot marks in my University car park.

I won the Welsh region prize, which was a free digital camera and then along with 8 other regional finalists entered into the mega prize draw to win a two week trip to Cuba. Sadly, I lost, but I got pretty close and it only took me 20 minutes of work, I knew that if I entered into the London region I would have no chance of winning.

The time you will spend working on winning, should justify the cost of the prize. Enjoying a Skydive during my Bebo, Gap Year, Best competition I ever won.

I decided to spend a total of 6 months campaigning to win a free Gap Year, 6 months worth of free travel. Was it worth it? I worked out the time I spent creating content for this competition was worth the prize total. I was working in a local bar at the time to fund my future travels so adding this extra work on top was totally worth it.

If I lost, I would have been heartbroken, but I had my savings to fall back on so I had nothing to lose, so I went for it. The competition got me excited about travel and I knew what I was getting myself into, I had nothing to loose. For a traveller, this type of trip was like winning the lottery, I would spend my lottery winnings on travel so it was worth all the effort.

Won a free trip around the world for 6 months by entering a travel competition on Bebo. There are two types of travel competitions, one with a judge panel and one with amount of votes cast. Recently its never been easier to buy Votes for competitions. If you have a large social media presence and those in your circle are happy to support you in your efforts, then boosting votes for your campaign can be possible, but the last competition that I took part in I was winning for a moment until others come along with buying votes and I got knocked out over night.

If you have a large Social media following and they want to back you then you could have a good chance. When asking for support from friends and Family on Facebook and Twitter be careful not to abuse their trust. When you win they come on the journey with you in some way too. If you loose then ask them again for more help, then they will look at you as the spam king, no one wants to be a spam king, be careful!

Surfing lessons on the Gold Coast thanks to a competition win. Post the competition to your wall and feed, add a nice message and ask them to share if they like the idea of you winning. Facebook can and will delete your account if you abuse this too much so be careful.

Also, this runs the risk that your friends might take part in the competition as well, one of my friends entered into the Australia competition I took part in and funny enough we both went well done Máire!

If you spot this happening, do report it to the admin, its unfair and against the competition rules. If the win is based on a panel of judges, This means that no voting will take place, but a panel will have the final decision.

Everyone has a little extra time to waste on vacation. Then, give away tickets to the winner. Say a casino is hosting the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a night on stage. Those staying at the venue can draw, paint or sketch their album cover and enter it into a contest for best artwork. Participants can model their T-shirts.

Are you set up for video contests? Ask contestants to perform their favorite song by the artist. Provide the karaoke machine and mic. Grant points for enthusiasm, props, and of course, wicked dance moves. Holidays tend to encourage travel — whether people are getting away with their families or getting away from their families.

Depending on the holiday, offer specific criteria for the contest, as well as prizes. For example, on a cruise, host bluechristmas where families are encouraged to document new and old Christmas traditions.

Require guests to be creative and reward the craziest, or offer several prizes for various categories. Whether you manage an all-inclusive resort or a cruise ship, you likely have a gift shop. Especially great for shorter trips, families can experience the city and not miss any of the main attractions.

Jump not literally, unless you want to make it a workout from one postcard location to the next. Take photos holding the postcards at each place and write a little memory on the back.

Hold a throwback photo contest that encourages previous guests to reminisce about their trip. What do they miss most? When will they be returning? If you're looking for some of the best to join, we'll help you find them. This article will go in-depth on a selection of travel photography competitions; you'll learn about their pricing, the requirements, and how often they occur.

Travel Photographer of the Year, also known as TPOTY, is one of the most famous competitions in this genre. The contest began in and has helped several photographers worldwide gain recognition. Of course, travel photography has several sub-niches—and TPOTY reflects this.

You've got the overall prize, and separate categories exist for younger photographers. If you're interested in capturing portraits on your travels, you'll find prizes available for that as well. Many photographers later add filmmaking to their skill set, and this competition has a prize for those interested in making HD short-form videos.

Young TPOTY is free to enter, but others require you to pay a fee. You can see a full breakdown of the prices on the TPOTY website. TPOTY takes place annually, and the entry deadline is usually in the fall. For example, the deadline for the competition was in October Wanderlust is one of the most popular travel magazines, and you'll find plenty of resources to help you plan a memorable trip.

Once you've decided where to go, you may also wish to consider entering the Wanderlust Photo of the Year competition. Like TPOTY, Wanderlust Photo of the Year takes place annually.

You can submit your entries within four categories, and the contest is primarily targeted toward amateur photographers. If you're successful, you could win prizes; the version offered a trip to Singapore, for example.

If you've taken photos on a trip that you love in the past, you don't need to go out and capture new shots for the competition. Wanderlust Photo of the Year allows entries from years gone by, and you don't need to pay an entry fee if you want to submit your shots. National Geographic is among the most renowned names in science and technology.

Its travel documentaries and articles are also popular, and one thing that'll strike you when visiting the National Geographic Traveller website is its beautiful imagery. Each year, National Geographic hosts the National Geographic Traveller Photography Competition. You can submit images in six categories, including one for landscape photography and another for urban environments.

You can enter each category if you've got a diverse portfolio and want to see how you do against other contestants. Besides the Grand Prize winners, you can also enjoy niceties if you're a runner-up. Like TPOTY, you'll need to submit your entries in the fall of the year before the competition.

However, the deadline is usually in late November. Sony is one of the most popular camera manufacturers. Besides these devices' capabilities for still images, many photographers with YouTube channels also use Sony cameras to film the footage they share with their audiences.

Each year, the Sony World Photography Awards offers amateur and professional picture-takers to share their art with others. You'll find numerous categories, but travel is one of them. The prizes will depend on which competition you enter. Is your travel brand ready to make the most of the holiday season?
